The surrounding environment plays a crucial role in shaping children’s socio-emotional development. An unsupportive environment can negatively affect children’s emotional regulation, social interaction, and adjustment in school. This study aims to explore the socio-emotional development of young children, to identify the strategies teachers use to stimulate this development, and to understand how teachers address socio-emotional difficulties experienced by children at TK An Shal. The study employs a qualitative research method, using a temporary working hypothesis that may require further validation through future research. Data collection techniques include semi-structured interviews, documentation, and passive participant observation. The primary source of information was the kindergarten teachers at TK An Shal. Data were analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model, which involves data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings reveal that teachers at TK An Shal utilize Alat Permainan Edukatif (APE) or educational play tools as a primary medium to promote children’s socio-emotional growth. During playtime, children are encouraged to share toys, cooperate, and communicate with their peers, providing natural opportunities to practice empathy, self-control, and social responsibility. Through this process, APE serves not only as a learning tool but also as a social instrument fostering emotional understanding and positive relationships among children. The study concludes that while APE effectively supports socio-emotional development, teachers are advised to integrate additional learning media and social-based activities to provide more varied and holistic stimulation for children’s socio-emotional growth.
